Google Launches New Cloud TPU Hosting for AI & Machine Learning

Second-Generation Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) Announced at 2017 Google I/O

Google as a company is constantly launching new technologies with the potential to radically change entire industries and alter the course of human civilization, with some of the best press announcements reserved for release at the annual I/O Convention. This year, Sundar Pichai (CEO), Jeff Dean (Research), and Urs Hölzle (Google Cloud) all made simultaneously timed announcements that effectively launched an entirely new form of cloud web hosting based around machine learning and artificial intelligence. Google has developed a new type of computer server with advanced Tensor Processing Units or TPUs which function to optimize machine learning processes for AI in a manner similar to the way that GPUs operate in the advanced mathematical rendering of high-speed computer graphics or in accelerating Bitcoin mining. Google intends to make the machine learning servers available for research and development on open source standards through cloud computing plans which can be programmed with TensorFlow, "an open-source software library for Machine Intelligence." The launch of Cloud TPU hosting is one of the highlights of Google's change from a "mobile-first" to "AI-first" company and symbolic of its goal to develop "AI-first" data centers across all current business operations.

Multi-Cloud Management with OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, Mirantis, & OnApp

TIntegrated Network Administration for Hybrid Multi-Vendor Cloud Hosting Solutions

As the major IT corporations and web hosting companies continue to develop their own proprietary cloud data centers & software platforms, there has been an increase in the need for new multi-cloud management services that allow businesses and consumers to administer cloud hosting deployments across multiple vendors simultaneously. Multi-cloud management systems can be installed independently with Red Hat OpenShift (which supports OpenStack, AWS, KVM, VMware, & private cloud integration), while other platforms like Cloud Foundry, Mirantis, & OnApp Cloud offer ready-made PaaS products with easy to navigate web GUI administration of multi-vendor cloud cluster server network resources. The use of containers on cloud web servers like Docker & Kubernetes increases data portability through full-stack transfers that preserve the production and development requirements of complex, database-driven web and mobile applications with custom code, enabling continuous software delivery with version control updates from distributed Agile programming teams.

Advanced Page Caching Techniques for CMS Websites

Έχει γραφτεί από: , 9 Μαϊ 2017

Understanding the Differences Between PHP, Database, & File Caching Systems

The introduction of advanced page caching techniques for websites as part of "platform as a service" cloud hosting plans has been a major industry trend over the last few years as data center companies develop new solutions targeted at CMS web hosting customers. Advanced page caching, load balanced network traffic, and low-density, premium hardware are all integral elements of many web hosting companies' proprietary cloud platforms. Shared hosting plans on cPanel now regularly include options for APC, Memcached, & OPcache as PHP runtime server extensions, while managed WordPress plans often include PaaS solutions based on Varnish Cache, Nginx, & Redis for even faster CMS website performance at scale. Facebook's HHVM is available on many cloud hosting plans with PHP 7 for optimizing web server pageload speeds on Apache. These advanced page caching solutions were developed in "big data" and enterprise IT applications under open source standards to be made available to small business owners and independent website publishers under retail cloud hosting service plans. It is important for website owners to understand the differences between PHP, database process, and file caching systems, as well as how to utilize available resources in a web hosting plan in order to get the best performance optimization for CMS websites on Linux servers.

OpenStack: An Open Source Cloud Operating System

Έχει γραφτεί από: , 4 Μαϊ 2017

Enterprise Cloud Hosting Solutions for Publishing, Media, & Ecommerce

Many of the largest web hosting companies in the world use OpenStack to manage their data centers and offer cloud solutions to clients based on virtualization hypervisors such as KVM, Hyper-V, Xen, & VMware. Cross-platform compatibility is a major advantage for OpenStack, as it functions as an elastic cloud operating system in launching and managing virtual web server instances for the most demanding websites, mobile apps, & business communications. OpenStack offers a base software configuration in a modular architecture that can be used by web hosting companies, as well as a number of advanced platform distributions from major IT companies that provide cloud solutions for research, government, biomedical, ecommerce, & media industries. OpenStack's popularity in enterprise IT has led to the creation of thousands of new jobs for programmers, systems administrators, and network engineers while processing billions of dollars in online transactions for the financial sector & ecommerce stores.

DockerCon 2017: New Developments in the Container Ecosystem

Έχει γραφτεί από: , 30 Απρ 2017

Cloud Server Management with Docker, Project Moby, & Kubernetes

Last week some of the world's leading developers of cloud hosting solutions came together at the annual Docker Convention in Austin, Texas to discuss ecosystem integration in the container and virtualization software communities. Docker is an open source framework that allows for the management of portable virtual network server environments that can be replicated and scaled in elastic cloud architecture. Docker can be deployed with the Kubernetes framework developed by Google that the company uses internally to manage billions of simultaneous server instances per day in business operations. Other examples of PaaS companies using Docker and Kubernetes are Cloud Foundry, Mirantis Cloud Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, and Bitnami stack snapshots.
