I used to swear by this host but I don't know if they went under new management. They're a total nightmare now... they'll email you about some major change in your server where you have to modify your DNS w/ your domains services (seriously?!)... tell you they don't have it ironed out... and they'll get back to you...(spoiler, they don't). I had three sites down for 3 days.. that's insanity. two sites are still down one is unimportant but the other will be dumping me because I can't help them. The Chat service bot never gets back to you and that's Option A B and C for service. Sometimes I get something fixed by emailing help@ but never a reply since ~2018-19...
You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave
ASO used to be fantastic but they're absolute garbage now, borderline scam. They literally do not have a way to delete your credit card information, will renew your plan when you disabled auto renewal 2 weeks before it's due and hide behind "according to our terms of service you have to cancel 45 days before your renewal".
In it for nothing more than the money, avoid at all costs
This is the worst hosting I have ever had. Don't ever buy their packages because they will turn your life into nightmare. I would rather give them 0 stars if possible here
They may be considered "value for money" but do you really want to pay for something that hardly works? I'm in a process of moving away from them, they've been nothing but trouble. They've just started some "migration" that they never warned me about with my website AND my email down for 2 days and was told that all emails sent to me will be lost, incredible poor service. Please do not go with host nine or A Small Orange (new company name), if you do, you will regret it
Used to be decent, gone wayyyyy downhill in recent years. Atrocious customer service, they WILL frequently make mistakes and not adhere to what they tell you at all. Double-billed me for two years strait w/o notice. Failed to process refunds correctly. DNS errors left and right. refuses to take responsibility or even offer a small discount. Awful company, idiotic customer support, they literally could not give a single sh*t
Will be taking my business elsewhere as soon as the year expires.
Beyond spotty service, their web portal is impossible to use - literally looks like it hasn't been changed since 2004.
They over charge a lot, and wont support Lets Encrypt because they still want more
Been using these guys for a while. I liked them at first, but something must have gone wrong at some point. I needed to add SSL to a site, and they wanted 35 a month. I told them I was already paying 100 a year for basically zero storage or bandwidth, but that meant nothing.
Stay away from ASO. After many years of good service, the independent company sold itself to another owner. Service quality dropped. The folks running the email servers are clearly incompetent. Additionally, management did not hire people who could fix email that was blacklisted by yahoo and aol. Yes, the black listing takes place in control of a third party. However, just about every other email provider manages to get mail through to aol and yahoo, two of the larger email domains in the world. Furthermore, i am willing to wager that the mail services that did have aol & yahoo problems managed to fix their situation in less than three years (the span of time that i experienced the inability to send email to aol and yahoo). It is such a relief to now use an email provider that is capable (Ultra Web Hosting). The *temporary* work around I suggested to ASO was to allow me to use another SMTP server that was not blacklisted. They wanted to charge significantly more for a dedicated mail server to address their mistake.
They used to be excellent but now they are terrible. For over a month their servers have gone down every two days. The chat staff are as helpful as they can be but they do not seem to be allowed to refer matters up the chain to the senior managers. I cannot find out who the current CEO is and it is not there person you get when you Google the subject. If you press them on this they just say they will upgrade the support ticket. Every two days I have to get on the chat line to ask them to fix it. It am going mad with it.
